Ayshah Alqaisi,  MS. Speech Pathology, CPSP, MSPA

Hi! My name is Ayshah (/aɪʃa/) and I am the director of Ayshah Alqaisi Speech Pathology.

I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences with a focus in sign language from The University of Arizona and a Master of Speech Language Pathology from The University of Sydney.

Prior to moving to Australia in 2016, I have worked as a Paediatric Speech Pathologist in an outpatient community hospital focusing on stuttering, disability, hearing, speech sound disorders and language development. Furthermore, I developed my skills in tailoring programs and support groups for clients who identify as coming from a culturally and linguistically diverse background whilst living in the Middle East.

After moving to Australia at the start of 2016, I have worked in multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary teams in private practice and school-based settings supporting my clients in achieving their communication goals. After providing therapy in different contexts, I believe that my clients benefit the most from therapy in their home environment and in the community. I offer a unique service where I support clients build new skills at home and generalise these skills out in the community as part of a collaborative treatment plan. Working closely with clients in their space allows me to gain their trust, build a relationship, understand their strengths and needs to guarantee best practice. I continue to expand on my skillset by on-going professional development and attendance at regular speech pathology conferences. My areas of interest are: Disability, Language Development, Autism Spectrum Disorder and Social Communication.

With personality and skills to match, my therapy sessions not only deliver results, but are also enjoyable for clients. My vision is to help my clients reach their full potential by making sure they are involved with goal setting and progress each step of the way.

Woof! My name is Chai and I am an aspiring therapy dog.

I am a pocket sized terrier cross chihuahua and here to assist with your communication goals. You can request me in sessions and I can be your personal cheerleader and loyal helper. I will only be available when it is appropriate and beneficial to you and your therapy goals.
